Scenario Description
After another month of hard fighting, the 11th Panzer Division was heading towards Uman in an attempt to help encircle a couple of Soviet armies. 5th Company of the 15th Panzer Regiment had, on the 20th, intercepted and destroyed a Russian train loaded with T34s. Supported by a couple of 88s, they stopped and continued to guard the rail line. The next day, the area was judged to be quiet and, ominously, the 88s were withdrawn because they were needed elsewhere. Meanwhile, Gustav Schrodek of Panzer #21 was looking forward to dinner. They had managed to kill a goose and were looking forward to having this rare treat. In an unfortunate irony, Russians started pouring out of the woods just as their goose finished cooking.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of Uman was the German offensive operation against the 6th and 12th Soviet Armies – under the command of Lieutenant General I. N. Muzychenko and Major General P. G. Ponedelin, respectively. The battle occurred during the Kiev defensive operation between the elements of the Red Army's Southwestern Front, retreating from the Lwow salient, and German Army Group South commanded by Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt, as part of Operation Barbarossa on the Eastern Front during World War II. The Soviet forces were under overall command of the Southwestern Direction, commanded by Marshal Semyon Budyonny, which included the Southwestern Front commanded by Colonel General Mikhail Kirponos and Southern Front commanded by General Ivan Tyulenev. The battle finished by the encirclement and annihilation of the 6th and 12th armies southeast of Uman.
