Scenario Description
The various Indian tribes of the frontier had united under the leadership of Pontiac in a major effort to annihilate the British outposts. By summer of 1763, they had captured or reduced to ruins all the British forts in the west except Forts Detroit, Niagara, and Pitt, which were besieged. Major efforts were underway by the British to lift the sieges of their remaining forts. By August 5 a relief force was about 25 miles from Fort Pitt when they were ambushed. The ambush drove the British Highlanders into a defensive circle around the supplies. Bayonet charges were mounted numerous times to push the attacking Indians away, but they only melted into the deep woods. Their concealed movement allowed bands of Indians to harass the British from all sides.
