Scenario Description
In the morning of May 15, as part of the "Dyle" Plan, General Dame's 2nd DINA (North African Infantry Division) was deployed behind the railroad and the west bank of the river Dyle. Starting at 7.45 am, the men of the 2nd DINA repelled several German assaults. The enemy managed to cross the railroad, but not the river; German soldiers were beaten back by the infantry and artillery of the French defenders. Men of the 2nd DINA held their position and their artillery devastated the Axis ranks. By evening the enemy pressure weakened; the Germans were exhausted, and both sides had suffered heavy casualties. The 2nd DINA had held the line and the Blitzkrieg had been stopped... but like all the units of the 1st Army, the 2nd DINA had to fall back. Even though the frontline was held at the river Dyle, it had been broken in the south.
