Scenario Description
The town of St Mere Eglise was one of the first towns liberated by the Allied forces during D-Day. Men of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division secured the town with minimal resistance early on June 6. The Wehrmacht's' 91st Division mounted several large scale counter attacks in the following 24 hours in an attempt to dislodge the All Americans from their positions. Tanks, self-propelled guns, mortars and up to two companies of infantry assaulted the Americans in the French town. - James Luck

On 1 January 2016, the former communes of Beuzeville-au-Plain, Chef-du-Pont, Écoquenéauville and Foucarville were merged into Sainte-Mère-Église. On 1 January 2019, the former communes of Carquebut and Ravenoville were merged into Sainte-Mère-Église.
