Scenario Description
On the night of June 11th the men of 3rd Para advanced on Mt. Langdon. The British soldiers hoped to creep through the night and ínfiltrate the Argentine defensas. Unfortunately for the paratroopers, one of them triggered a land mind, which alerted the Argentine defenders of Mt. Langdon. Thus began what many say was the most difficult battle fought in the British campaign to recapture the Falklands. After 10 hours of bitter fighting the British captured the narrow ridge, but still the battle was not over. Within the hour the Argentines launched their only counterattack of the war: men from A Company, 7th Infantry Regiment, crept up the slopes of the rocky knolI.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of Mount Longdon, on 11–12 June 1982, towards the end of the Falklands War, was fought between the British Third Battalion Parachute Regiment and elements of the Argentine 7th Infantry Regiment. It was one of three engagements in a Brigade-size operation that night, along with the Battle of Mount Harriet and the Battle of Two Sisters. A mixture of hand-to-hand fighting and ranged combat resulted in the British occupying this key position around the Argentine garrison at Port Stanley.
