Scenario Description
As the Blitzkrieg in Holland began, the Germans had to capture the traffic bridge in Dordrecht intact in order to allow the flow of forces from the border to reach Rotterdam and The Hague. A platoon from the 3rd Company, 1st Battalion of Fallschirnyager Regiment 1 was dropped near the bridge on the north side, and two other platoons landed in a field, or polder, on the southern edge of the city. Their objective was to take and hold the bridgehead at all costs. A larger-than expected number of Dutch Railway Guards and Army Maritime Engineers took up the defense.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of the Netherlands was a military campaign part of Case Yellow, the German invasion of the Low Countries and France during World War II. The battle lasted from 10 May 1940 until the surrender of the main Dutch forces on 14 May. Dutch troops in the province of Zealand continued to resist the Wehrmacht until 17 May when Germany completed its occupation of the whole country.
