Scenario Description
As part of the Third Battle of Kharkov the Grossdeutschland Panzergrenadier Division drove north from southwest of Kharkov. Manstein’s attack had taken the Soviets by surprise as they neared the limits of their army's strength by early March. During this counterattack the GD Reconnaissance Battalion was making good progress in multiple small confrontations with the Soviet's 69th Army. The order of the day was to keep moving forward. The Squadron of “Battle Group Strachwitz,” after taking fire from Alexandrovka, was assigned the job of taking out the Soviet forces there. Rather than wait, they immediately charged down the slopes into the heavy defensive fire coming directly at them.
