Scenario Description
One of the few units near the bridge not attached to the 2nd Parachute Battalion was Platoon No. 8 of the 3rd Parachute Battalion. Accompanied by men from the Headquarters Defense Platoon, Platoon No. 8 probed outward into the factories of the industrial district east of the bridge. The group set up a perimeter and organized a plan to ambush any passing Germans. They would simply stay put throughout the evening and reconnoiter further under cover of darkness. As the men took up their positions, they suddenly came under intense attack from tanks and troops from Kampfgruppe Knaust.
