Scenario Description
The American 95th Infantry Division, upon being relieved from its position at Metz, was tasked with making the first crossing of the Saar River. From 25-28 November, the division made headway against the German defense which, though thin spread, was greatly aided by muddy roads, dense fog, and swollen streams. At nightfall on the 28th, the 95th was less than five miles from the Saar. The following morning the 1st Battalion of the 377th Regiment was ordered to take the village of St. Barbara, located on a strategically important spur overlooking the Saar.
