Scenario Description
For an entire week, Major Rudolf Witzig's Fallschirmpionier-Bataillon 11 had frustrated every effort the British 36th Brigade made to advance past the crossroads at Djebel Abiod. The morning of November 25 revealed that the Germans had withdrawn overnight, foiling a planned British attack. The para-engineers fell back along the road to Mateur until they reached a narrow defile where they prepared to greet the British advance with a deadly ambush. On November 28, the lead elements of the 36th Brigade cautiously approached the defile, and they proceeded to fire on the hills to probe for enemy positions. Well hidden, the superbly disciplined para-engineers held their return fire, lulling the British into a false sense of security. The British soon resumed their advance, unwittingly right into the well-laid ambush.

Battle Narrative
The Tunisian campaign was a series of battles that took place in Tunisia during the North African campaign of the Second World War, between Axis and Allied forces. The Allies consisted of British Imperial Forces, including a Greek contingent, with American and French corps. The battle opened with initial success by the German and Italian forces but the massive supply interdiction efforts led to the decisive defeat of the Axis. Over 250,000 German and Italian troops were taken as prisoners of war, including most of the Afrika Korps.
