Scenario Description
After expanding its bridgehead. the 7th Panzer Division was poised to exploit the situation. Under the increasing German pressure. the French 9e Armée High Command overreacted by committing its reserves early by sending the 4e DI Nord-Africaine and the 1er DCR to plug the gap at the Dinant area to slow the German advance. Rommel‘s Division, along with 5th Panzer Division, struck them before any spoiling attack could be organized. The French defenses quickly disintegrated. The 4e DINA fought bravely, but vainly, while the 1er DCR could not provide much assistance after a long march to the combat area before the battle left many of its tanks short of fuel. Only 10 French tanks survived the battle and Rommel pushed through Philippevilie, racing west to the French rear without opposition.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of Sedan or Second Battle of Sedan took place in the Second World War during the Battle of France in 1940. It was part of the German Wehrmacht's operational plan codenamed Fall Gelb for an offensive through the hilly and forested Ardennes, to encircle the Allied armies in Belgium and north-eastern France. German Army Group A crossed the Meuse river with the intention of capturing Sedan and pushing northwards towards the Channel coast, to trap the Allied forces that were advancing east into Belgium, as part of the Allied Dyle Plan.
