Scenario Description
Hube's Pocket, named for German Generaloberst Hans-Valentin Hube, was created when forces of the Soviet 1st and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts attempted to cut off and encircle the German 1st Panzer Army north of the Dniester River. As the most powerful formation in Army Group South with 20 panzer and panzergrenadier divisions, Soviet Marshal Georgi Zhukov targeted the German Army for destruction by committing over 11 armies to operation. While suffering significant losses on both sides, the majority Of Hube's forces were able to escape the pocket.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of the Kamenets-Podolsky pocket was part of the larger Soviet Proskurov–Chernovitsy Offensive, whose main goal was to envelop the Wehrmacht'sist Panzer Army of Army Group South. The envelopment occurred in late March 1944 on the Eastern Front during the Dnieper-Carpathian Offensive. It was the biggest and most important operation of the Dnieper-Carpathian Offensive.
