Scenario Description
During the night of June 24-25, additional elements from the Soviet 22nd Mechanized Corps, which included a number of Red Army KV-2 heavy tanks, took up positions alongside the remains of the 19th Tank Division in Lutsk. At dawn the Germans launched another attack. Even though shells simply bounced off the thick armor of the monstrous KV-2 tanks, the small number that actually entered the fight did not pose more than a minor inconvenience and the Germans and the panzers steadily began to wear down the Soviet tank formations. Finally, with the daylight fading, the 13th Panzer Division along with the 14th Panzers broke into Lutsk, forcing the Soviet units to evacuate the city.

Battle Narrative
Operation Barbarossa was the code name for the Axis invasion of the Soviet Union, which started on Sunday, 22 June 1941, during World War II. The operation put into action Nazi Germany's ideological goal of conquering the western Soviet Union so as to repopulate it with Germans. The German Generalplan Ost aimed to use some of the conquered people as slave labour for the Axis war effort while acquiring the oil reserves of the Caucasus as well as the agricultural resources of various Soviet territories. Their ultimate goal included the eventual extermination, enslavement, Germanization and mass deportation to Siberia of the Slavic peoples, and to create more Lebensraum for Germany.
