Scenario Description
In late April 1941, the battle of Greece was lost for the Allies. Like the previous year in Dunkirk, the British troops were evacuated by the Royal Navy. In the Peloponnese, some elements of the 16th Australian Brigade and service units were gathered in the harbor of Kalamata awaiting their evacuation. On the 28th of April, when an armored column of the 5.Panzer Division entered in the town, the Australian soldiers, waiting their turn in an olive grove, formed some improvised battle groups and attacked the Germans with fixed bayonets. Their sacrifice allowed a large number of their comrades to embark and escape. The Commonwealth troops were out of munitions, so those who were not evacuated during the night surrendered to the Germans. The battle of Greece was over, the battle of Crete was about to begin.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of Greece (also known as Operation Marita) is the common name for the invasion of Allied Greece by Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany during World War II. The Italian invasion in October 1940, which is usually known as the Greco-Italian War, was followed by the German invasion in April 1941. German landings on the island of Crete (May 1941) came after Allied forces had been defeated in mainland Greece. These battles were part of the greater Balkan Campaign of the Axis powers and their associates.
