Scenario Description
The US 4th Armor Division, under the direction of Col. Creighton Abrams, had been broken into two Combat teams. On December 6, 1944, its lead elements came under heavy fire in the Lorraine Sector, when approaching the village of Singling. Under cover fire from their half-tracks and armor, the US infantry moved forward to clear the village. But smoke shells fired from a hidden German Nebelwerfer held their advance. The stalemate was not broken until German tanks charged over the ridge north of Singling. Allied armor soon joined the fight, but unable to take the village, the Americans pulled back at dusk.
