Scenario Description
Parry Island, the third largest island in the northwester Ralik Group, was the last major objective scheduled to be taken by Operation Catchpole. BrigGen Watson had initially planned the assault on Parry for February 21, but the capture of other islands had bogged down, preventing 22nd Marines from being pulled out of the action and re-embarked to Parry in time. Z-hour was therefore reset to 09.00hrs on the 22nd.Marine engineers and tanks landed with the Marines, near the Northwest corner where mines had been laid. Companies from the 2/22 moved north and straight across the island but the 1/22 had landed too far South; as the Marine tanks came ashore, Japanese tanks attacked them. The Shermans riposted, destroying the enemy's armor and resumed their attack South, following a short artillery barrage. By early evening, Parry Island was secured.

Battle Narrative
The Battle of Eniwetok was a battle of the Pacific campaign of World War II, fought between 17 February 1944 and 23 February 1944, on Enewetok Atoll in the Marshall Islands. The invasion of Eniwetok followed the American success in the Battle of Kwajalein to the southeast. Capture of Eniwetok would provide an airfield and harbor to support attacks on the Mariana Islands to the northwest. The operation was officially known as "Operation Catchpole", and was a three-phase operation involving the invasion of the three main islands in the Eniwetok Atoll.
