Scenario Description
The new American Army had not won a fight in the Campaign for New York in the summer of 1776. As the American army was being pursued near Harlem Heights, Washington ordered a force forward to lure the advanced troops of the British into a trap while a second force moved around the British right flank and cut them off from the main British army. The British took the bait and as they advanced the Americans flanking party moved to cut them off from their main forces. Washington fed more troops into the battle. The flanking attack was launched a bit prematurely but the surrounding forces were fully in position, and it did succeed in driving the British further back. The Americans were pressing the British troops hard.
