Scenario Description
Major Stautner of the 2nd Battalion, 139th Gebirgsjager Regiment saw an opportunity to attack the isolated Norwegian 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry in the Gratangen valley. The attack was launched early on the morning of April 24th in a swirling blizzard. The men of Lt. Bauer's 2nd Company were ordered to support the main attack of the 13th Company by occupying a roadblock position on Route 50 near the Moen and Nylund farms. The attack met stiff resistance from the Norwegians. In an effort to check the German advance Captain Mjoen's 3rd Company was ordered to counter attack to retake several lost positions.
