Scenario Description
Operation Tremor, the Allied counterattack into the overextended German positions West of London, began in earnest on 17 November. With Axis troops committed to the British capital and still unable to control bridgeheads along the length of the River Medway, the Southern arm of Operation Tremor made rapid gains between Oxford and Reading. Two days after breaching German lines a British force pushing deep into the Axis flank came upon a German headquarters at Highclere Castle. A stately home rather than a serious fortification, the German defenders chose instead to flee to the wooded hills nearby. The British troops were given orders to pursue the retreating troops with the intention of killing or capturing German commanders. Despite the lateness of the hour and the closing dusk, elements of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards took up positions in outbuildings and began trading fire with German forces lurking in the trees.

Battle Narrative
Operation Sea Lion, also written as Operation Sealion, was Nazi Germany's code name for the plan for an invasion of the United Kingdom during the Battle of Britain in the Second World War. Following the Fall of France, Adolf Hitler, the German Führer and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, hoped the British government would seek a peace agreement and he reluctantly considered invasion only as a last resort if all other options failed.
