In the ensuing action, Company C of the 636th Tank Destroyer Battalion destroyed 7 German tanks and an ammunition carrier that forded the Creek. Most of the damage was inflicted by Sgt Edwin A Yost’s M10 ’Jinx', which included among its crew the twins Pvts Claude and Clyde Stokes, who had required special dispensation to serve together.
